Marcia Clifford – Founder and Owner

A native of the Northeast, I have always been drawn to numbers, a passion that shaped my career from an early age. I began my professional journey as a bank teller in high school and have since gained extensive experience in roles such as Internal Auditor, Account Manager, Controller, Human Resources Manager, and Franchise Owner. Even outside of work, you’ll often find me jotting down calculations—whether in a notebook or on the back of a receipt.

With over 30 years of experience in accounting, I have worked across public sectors, large corporations, startups, and small businesses. My greatest satisfaction comes from supporting entrepreneurs, small business owners, and CEOs by managing their accounting needs, allowing them to focus on growing their businesses.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University (formerly New Hampshire College) and an MBA from Suffolk University. I truly enjoy meeting new people and building long-term relationships. I look forward to partnering with you and helping your business thrive.

Sally Brown – Accounting Director

Based out of Chicago, I began my accounting career in 1986 as a Staff Accountant for an international publishing firm, where I advanced to roles including Assistant Corporate Controller and Director of Accounting, Shared Services. My experience also includes serving as Finance Director and later Executive Vice President for a small international manufacturing company. Additionally, I have provided bookkeeping and accounting support for small franchises, helping business owners manage their financial operations effectively.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mathematics from Ball State University and a Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) from Roosevelt University. With a strong foundation in financial management and a diverse background across industries, I am committed to delivering expert accounting solutions tailored to the unique needs of businesses.

Meghan Machado- Accountant

Meghan brings a unique blend of creativity, precision, and dedication to her role at Pleasant Street Accounting. After spending five years as a full-time mom, she reentered the professional world with a fresh perspective and a strong work ethic.

Before joining the team, Meghan built a diverse career foundation where she developed a keen eye for detail and a knack for numbers. Her varied background gives her a well-rounded approach to problem-solving and client support.

When she’s not crunching numbers, Meghan enjoys spending time with her kids, staying active, and tackling creative projects at home.

Ann Brown – Consultant

Located in Austin, TX, I help manage PSA’s Marketing, Special Projects, and IT/Security.

I graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s degree in English and later obtained my MLA. My passion for helping small businesses grow has always been strong.
